"‏ قَدْ كَانَ يَكُونُ فِي الأُمَمِ مُحَدَّثُونَ فَإِنْ يَكُ فِي أُمَّتِي أَحَدٌ فَعُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ‏"

that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Among the nations, there used to be Muhaddathun (those who were given understanding), and if there were one in my nation, it would be 'Umar bin Al-Khattab."
