Fasting
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحْرِزُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ الْعَدَنِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ جُمْهَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " لِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ زَكَاةٌ وَزَكَاةُ الْجَسَدِ الصَّوْمُ " . زَادَ مُحْرِزٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " الصِّيَامُ نِصْفُ الصَّبْرِ " .
“For everything there is Zakat and the Zakat of the body is fasting.” (A narrator in one of the chains) Muhriz added in his narration: "And the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Fasting is half of patience.'"
