The Book of Pilgrimage
" لاَ يَحِلُّ لاِمْرَأَةٍ مُسْلِمَةٍ تُسَافِرُ مَسِيرَةَ لَيْلَةٍ إِلاَّ وَمَعَهَا رَجُلٌ ذُو حُرْمَةٍ مِنْهَا "
It is not lawful for a Muslim woman to travel a night's journey except when there is a Mahram with her.
