The Book of Drinks
وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لاِبْنِ عُمَرَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ قَالَ فَقَالَ قَدْ زَعَمُوا ذَاكَ . قُلْتُ أَنَهَى عَنْهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ قَدْ زَعَمُوا ذَاكَ .
I said to Ibn 'Umar that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had forbidden the preparation of Nabidh in the green pitcher (besmeared with pitch). He said: This is what they stated. I said: Did Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) forbid this? He said: They said so.
