The Book of Cutting off the Hand of the Thief
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، وَعَطَاءٍ، عَنْ أَيْمَنَ، قَالَ لَمْ تُقْطَعِ الْيَدُ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِلاَّ فِي ثَمَنِ الْمِجَنِّ وَثَمَنُهُ يَوْمَئِذٍ دِينَارٌ .
"The hand of a thief was not be cut off during the time of the Messenger of Allah except for the price of a shield, which in those days was a Dinar." (Daif)
