Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat): Detailed Injunctions about Witr
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ أُوتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم سَبْعًا مِنَ الْمَثَانِي الطُّوَلِ وَأُوتِيَ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ سِتًّا فَلَمَّا أَلْقَى الأَلْوَاحَ رُفِعَتْ ثِنْتَانِ وَبَقِيَ أَرْبَعٌ .
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was given seven repeated long surahs, while Moses was given six, When he threw the tablets, two of them were withdrawn and four remained.
