The Rites of Hajj (Kitab Al-Manasik Wa'l-Hajj)
" أَتَانِي جِبْرِيلُ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ آمُرَ أَصْحَابِي وَمَنْ مَعِي أَنْ يَرْفَعُوا أَصْوَاتَهُمْ بِالإِهْلاَلِ - أَوْ قَالَ - بِالتَّلْبِيَةِ "
Khalid ibn as-Sa'ib al-Ansari on his father's authority reported the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: Gabriel came to me and commanded me to order my Companions to raise their voices in talbiyah.
