" يَا عَائِشَةُ مَا أُرَى أَسْمَاءَ إِلاَّ قَدْ نَفِسَتْ فَلاَ تُسَمُّوهُ حَتَّى أُسَمِّيَهُ "
from 'Aishah, that the Prophet (ﷺ) saw a lamp in the house of Az-Zubair, so he said: "O 'Aishah, I do not think except that Asma has given birth, so do not name him until I should name him." So he named him 'Abdullah, and he (performed Tahnik) with a date that was in his hand.
