حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ خَيَّرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَاخْتَرْنَاهُ ‏.‏ فَلَمْ نَرَهُ شَيْئًا ‏.‏

"The Messenger of Allah gave us the choice, and we chose him, and he did not consider it as something (i.e., an effective divorce)."
