"‏ رَأَيْتُ امْرَأَةً سَوْدَاءَ ثَائِرَةَ الرَّأْسِ خَرَجَتْ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ حَتَّى قَامَتْ بِالْمَهْيَعَةِ وَهِيَ الْجُحْفَةُ ‏.‏ فَأَوَّلْتُهَا وَبَاءً بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَنُقِلَ إِلَى الْجُحْفَةِ ‏"

“I saw a black woman with disheveled hair, who left Al-Madinah and went to stay in Al- Mahya’ah, which is Juhfah. I interpreted it as referring to an epidemic in Al-Madinah which moved to Juhfah.”
