وَحَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مُوسَى، يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، قَبْلَ أَنْ يُحْدِثَ، .
‘Amr bin Ubayd narrated to us before what happened’ [i.e. before he became Mu’tazilī].
