The Book of Faith
وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الشَّاعِرِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ، كِلاَهُمَا عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ وَقَالاَ فَيُلْقَوْنَ فِي نَهْرٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ الْحَيَاةُ . وَلَمْ يَشُكَّا . وَفِي حَدِيثِ خَالِدٍ كَمَا تَنْبُتُ الْغُثَاءَةُ فِي جَانِبِ السَّيْلِ . وَفِي حَدِيثِ وُهَيْبٍ كَمَا تَنْبُتُ الْحِبَّةُ فِي حَمِئَةٍ أَوْ حَمِيلَةِ السَّيْلِ .
They would be cast into the river which is called (the river of) life, and (both the narrators) did not doubt the hadith. The text transmitted by Khalid is: just as seeds sprout beside the flood water; and in the hadith of Wuhaib it is: Just as the seed sprouts in the silt or deposit left by flood.
