The Book of Zakat
" الْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى وَالْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا الْمُنْفِقَةُ وَالسُّفْلَى السَّائِلَةُ "
The upper hand is better than the lower one, the upper being the one which bestows and the lower one which begs.
